I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Indiana University Bloomington. I received my Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Chicago in 2024. Prior to this, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering, and a Master’s degree in Business Psychology.

My research broadly examines how we think and speak about other people, based on how we mentally organize them. Specifically, I study how the social categories we are exposed to, and the stereotypes we have about them, influence how we perceive and represent others’ faces and how we gesture when we spontaneously speak about others.

I primarily study social categories and cognitions prevalent among adult populations in the United States. However, broadening my investigations beyond the U.S. and into developmental populations has helped me identify / examine core social cognitive processes that might otherwise go unnoticed.
